Method matters on a roof. We use soft brushes and purified water only: no detergents that leave residue, no abrasives that scratch anti-reflective coatings, and nothing a panel manufacturer could point at when a warranty question comes up. Most arrays are reached with the poles; where roof access is needed, it's done properly.
Once a year suits most installations, or twice for panels under trees or near farmland. Book it alongside a gutter clear and the visit does double duty for less.
